As in which anime dosen't have say full epsiodes about events and actions that simply had no relation to what was going on in the manga and could be skipped without having to worry about the main story. So I'm trying to think of which anime actually didn't have that. Although this is more common in longer series, even short series can have filler (or even just different material then was put in the manga).
Usually to give the manga more time to get ahead of the anime production schedule so the animators can have about an episode a week for the auidence to enjoy. As in stories not from the manga added into the animated version for a variety of reasons.
Responding to something in the Naruto abridged talkback got me thinking.Ī lot of anime (espically Shonen anime) adapted from the original manga source material are padded with "filler".
